Lajuran driver Aris Sanda (alias Father Tasya; from Toraja, South Sulawesi) was intercepted by armed men on the Trans Wamena–Mbua/Nduga route (near the Lake Habema junction, Gunung Boy, Trikora District) around 06:00–09:25 WIT on 15 September 2026. Passengers were screened and sent back to Wamena; Aris was taken away, shot dead and his car burned. His body was found in the charred vehicle on 16 September 2026.
